We get asked this question quite a bit. The answer is that there is no “average weight." Weights can range
from 900 or so pounds to over 10,000 pounds depending on the trailer size.
To check the specific weight for a particular trailer model from the
Trailer Showroom, please see our Trailer Weight Chart.
Here are the standard tongue specifications for trailers from TrailerShowroom.com:
Tongue Weight: Can vary between 75 lbs. for 5' width to 250 lbs. for 8.5' width car haulers.
Tongue Length: 42"
Triple Tube Tongue: 54" or 60" (both sizes available).
As you scroll down through our weight charts, you'll see some charts that have the weight for each model we carry. From 3,500 to 7,000 lb trailer axle models, the charts on that page will tell you exactly how much each model will weigh in its standard package. Keep in mind, however, that additional upgrades, accessories or packages may affect the overall weight slightly.
The charts on that page will also tell you the payload weight and empty trailer weight, so you will have a very good idea of how much your trailer can haul as well as how much it will weigh when it's fully unloaded.
If you have any other questions about our trailer models, sizes or current specials, please feel free to give us a call at 1-877-45TRAILER.
