What is the Weight of an Enclosed Trailer?

We get asked this question quite a bit.  The answer is that there is no “average weight."  Weights can range
from 900 or so pounds to over 10,000 pounds depending on the trailer size.

Here are the standard tongue specifications for trailers from TrailerShowroom.com:

Tongue Weight: Can vary between 75 lbs. for 5' width to 250 lbs. for 8.5' width car haulers.

Tongue Length: 42"

Triple Tube Tongue: 54" or 60" (both sizes available).

As you scroll down through our weight charts, you'll see some charts that have the weight for each model we carry. From 3,500 to 7,000 lb trailer axle models, the charts on that page will tell you exactly how much each model will weigh in its standard package. Keep in mind, however, that additional upgrades, accessories or packages may affect the overall weight slightly.

The charts on that page will also tell you the payload weight and empty trailer weight, so you will have a very good idea of how much your trailer can haul as well as how much it will weigh when it's fully unloaded.

Our McGregor, TX facility is one of the most popular ordering and pick up sites, as it is our lowest priced Texas facility. We offer an extensive selection of high-quality, reasonably priced enclosed cargo trailers from our McGregor facility, including 8.5' car haulers, concession trailers and even the more compact 5' and 6' enclosed trailers. In addition to these products, we also offer numerous options for accessories, upgrades and add-ons - all offered at very competitive prices.

McGregor, TX is situated about 17 miles southwest of Waco and is about a two and a half hour drive from Dallas. Because of its fairly central location, this would be an ideal ordering and pick up location for anyone in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas or Louisiana.

Waco, TX

Our facility in Waco also offers an extensive variety of enclosed cargo trailers at highly competitive prices. The main difference you'll find between the McGregor facility and this one is that the prices are slightly higher when ordering from the Waco facility. While McGregor is our lowest priced TX facility, Waco is a more convenient location for many of our clients. Only about an hour and a half's drive from Dallas, Waco is a popular location for those who want to save a little extra driving time during their pick up.

And, like the McGregor facility, the Waco facility is centrally located in the southern part of the United States. Oklahoma City, OK; Little Rock, AR and Jackson, MS are all less than an eight-hour drive from Waco.

We also have an enclosed trailer facility in Douglas, GA; Elkhart, IN and Independence, OR - so depending on where you reside, one location may be more convenient than the others. Keep in mind that when you order from one location, you will not be able to pick up your trailer from a different location. Also, for the convenience of our clients, we do offer shipping/delivery options, but most of our clients find it is more economical to drive to the facility and pick up their trailer in person.
